Your Stay

For patients and maternity patients not omitted to the hospital, and with residency outside of Suðurstreymoy, boarding and lodging at our guesthouse, called Gestalonin, is an option. These options is also available for the patients relatives.

Gestalonin at The National Hospital is located at Eirargarði 4 on the 1st and 2nd floor.

The 1st floor houses an apartment, two twin bedrooms with a double bed, and six rooms with double beds. All rooms include a tv, table and chairs. There are three joint bathrooms in the hall, a toilet, kitchen, a common area and a storage room.

The 2nd floor houses an apartment, a twin bedroom with a double bed and eight rooms with single beds.

The apartments are primarily intended maternity patients visiting for an extended period.

Accommodation
Maternity patients and patients without a need for omittance to the hospital and relatives who would like to be near the hospital can request a room or apartment at Gestalonin with the relevant department.

The rooms at the National Hospital are approximately 12 m². All rooms are furnished. Bed linen and towels are also provided. There is a shared kitchen and several bathrooms and toilets in the hallway.

The apartments are approximately 30 m² and consist of an entrance hall, hallway, kitchen, bathroom/WC, and a combined living and bedroom. All the apartments are furnished. The kitchen is equipped with cutlery and regular kitchen utensils. Bed linen and towels are also provided.

Washing machines and dryers are located in the basement. They operate with regular coins or tokens. Tokens for the washing machines can be purchased at the reception between 08:00 and 20:00. Clean bed linen and towels can be picked up at the laundry in exchange for the used ones.

The staff building at Klaksvíkar Sjúkrahús holds apartments and rooms for staff on duty and students. 

The Skemman staff building belongs to Hospital of Suðuroy.

The three story building was built in 1950 and was renovated in 2012.

The apartments are located on the mid level and top floor. Each floor holds 6 apartments equipped with a kitchen, toilet/bath, telephone and tv. The apartments are  suited for max two adults. There is no elevator in the building.

There is a shared laundry room with a washing machine, dryer and ironing board on the ground level.
